Even when you don’t feel like it

I really wasn’t in the mood to do anything last night, but we’d arranged a meeting of my local art group so I dragged myself grumpily there. I’m glad I did as I spent a good few hours in the company of real friends, doing a bit of art and chatting. I chose to do portrait and life drawing (a charcoal sketch is shown below) using models from the paid life drawing resource at Croquis Cafe (link opens in new window and features nudity, so be warned!). I nearly always enjoy myself once I get going and I feel that drawing practice always benefits me in the long run. Make time to practice!
