Printing and framing day
I think that proper presentation makes all the difference with art. I recently framed a couple of pictures for a display of local artists in my area and I was very pleasantly surprised by the positive feedback I got for my stuff. I’m sure that at least a large part of this was down to presentation; framing can make art look a lot more professional and “proper”.
I just got myself a new Logan mount cutter from Crafty Arts (link opens in new window). It’s not a super-fancy one, but it seems really good quality and it certainly cuts a mount nicely. Here’s a couple of mounts I cut myself to frame this lino print of a little owl. The great thing was that I could experiment with the spacing around the print, and I wasn’t forced into using a pre-cut mount of the wrong size or colour. I think the little gap around the print works best and I’m very pleased with the overall result, displayed here on the pianoforte. What do you think?
