Drawings

Some time ago, I made a very conscious decision to practise art in some form on a regular basis. Because time can be quite limited and I don’t have a permanent place in which to set up my stuff, I chose drawing as my daily activity. The inertia involved in setting up to do a quick pencil or charcoal sketch is much less than that involved in getting all my painting gear out and I have found that it has been possible to do some kind of artistic activity nearly every day. The drawings on this page were never really intended as finished works, or for display, but I derived a lot of pleasure from doing them and thought I’d share them here. I mostly use Conté carrés on newsprint paper. Most of the life models I use are from the Croquis Cafe life-drawing resource.
